Trapping Success Continues
with Third Male Captured in
Ontario, Canada, Project
News Release:
The sixth wolverine capture for the Ontario Boreal Wolverine Project is a 32 lb. male judged to be approximately 3-4 years old. He was captured 18 miles from the town of Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, project headquarters.

In order to obtain study data, a captured wolverine is immobilized with a chemical agent. Processing includes recording weights, measurements, general characteristics and condition, blood samples, applying ear tags, etc. The animal is then fitted with a radio-collar and returned to the log trap for recovery before final release.
