"Wandering with Wolverines" now on DVD exclusively!

TWF Director Dr. Audrey J. Magoun has conducted wolverine research for over 20 years. In summer 2000, Dr. Magoun initiated a pilot study to determine if captive-born wolverine kits reared in a natural environment could provide new insights into the development, behavior, and ecology of wolverine kits. Dr. Magoun raised two free-ranging kits, a male and a female, in a remote, mountainous area in south-central Alaska for two months. Information was collected on physical development, food habits, caching behavior, development of hunting skills, predator avoidance, scent-marking, movement patterns, and use of habitat features. A more extensive research project was slated for summer 2004. However, captive born wolverine kits were not available at planned project schedule.
